As part of our ‘Superhero’ topic, Elsa froze some superheroes! We tested different solids and liquids to see what would melt the ice faster and save them!
We called upon our estimating and measuring skills to first, predict the width of a shadow in a given room design and secondly, to measure the width accurately. After exploring how light travels and the concept of reflection, our challenge was to manipulate the laser’s path of light by adding mirrors at a 45 degree angle to travel through a maze.
During science lessons, children in Year 6 studied the circulatory system and learned to identify and name the main parts of the human circulatory system, describe the functions of the heart, blood vessels and blood and describe the ways in which nutrients and water are transported within animals, including humans. We had great fun applying our knowledge of how the heart works , creating and labelling our own model of the human heart.
Our Year 4 children enjoyed working scientifically to create their own ice cream.
